Mary Angela Bock is an associate professor in the University of Texas at Austin School of Journalism and Media. She is a former TV journalist turned academic with an interest in social justice and photojournalistic practice. Her work has appeared in publications that include Journal of Communication, Visual Communication Quarterly, and New Media and Society. Her most recent book, Gender and Journalism: An Intersectional Approach, (Rowman and Littlefield, 2023) covers the way gender has affected journalists and the stories they cover.
